Packing Stationery Packs

The Idea behind stationery packs...

The idea of giving stationery packs was inspired by what the children needed for their studies as well as daily needs as well as a little reward for their efforts.
We had so much fun with this process, we had lots of ideas and wanted to give so much. Fortunately we had Lee's family there, his eldest sister Ju to help ground us and help us shop and organize the whole process. We are very thankful for her help and guidance.

We packaged these items together:
- 2 pens
- 1 pencil with eraser
- 1 book (will last them for the year)
- 1 large scarf (multipurpose use; scarf, towel, blanket and wrap)
- some lollies (a little treat), and
- 50c lunch money

Olympic Market (Psar Olympic)

We shopped at the local wholesale bulk-buy market, Olympic Market (Psar Olympic) which was like any other market in Asia only more of a nightmare! Since it was a wholesale market it was worst than your average Asian market but all in all a lot of fun!
Pictures of the Psar Olympic market can be found on these websites:

We spent over 3days shopping and ordering items, returning to ensure we haven't missed anything and also to sort out items that weren't delivered etc.

Packing fun!

It took us 3days and 2nights to fold, pack and seal the 730 stationery kits. There was a lot of energy and adrenaline during the process as we wanted to ensure we have done everything perfectly for the children.
At the same time Lee's parents also bought clothing for the elder residents of the temple (similar to a retirement village/home), so we also folded, packed and sealed those 40 packs as well.
Once we had the date set it was a race to have everything done for the big days ahead at the school :).
